Your digital gallery is just the beginning
After your wedding, you will receive a personalised online gallery containing all of your edited images in high resolution. It is tempting to download them, share a few on social media, and leave the rest on a hard drive. But wedding photographs deserve better — they deserve to be printed, held, and displayed.
I have been a wedding photographer in the Lake District for many years, and I have seen too many couples let their photographs languish on a phone. Here is my guide to drawing the very best prints from your digital gallery.
Paper types explained
Not all photographic paper is created equal. The paper you choose affects colour accuracy, longevity, and the overall feel of the final image.
- Lustre paper. The professional standard. A subtle satin finish that resists fingerprints and renders rich, true-to-life colour. Used in all of my album packages.
- Matte paper. No glare, no reflections. Beautiful for soft, romantic images, though it can appear slightly flat on high-contrast shots.
- Metallic paper. A pearlescent finish that makes colours sing with an almost three-dimensional quality. Featured in my Premium and Ultimate collections for a reason — it is simply stunning.
- Glossy paper. High shine and vibrant colour, but it shows every fingerprint. Best avoided for albums you will handle often.
Albums vs loose prints
Loose prints are wonderful for sharing with family, but a wedding album is the keepsake that lasts for generations. My albums are handcrafted from the finest materials — lay-flat pages, extra-thick stock, luxury binding, and presentation boxes with bespoke engraving.
The Digital Only Collection gives you all the digital files alongside 20 Lustre prints. The Deluxe Collection adds the Giovane album — a 12x8" landscape album with 30 pages. For couples who want the finest presentation, the Ultimate Collection includes the Superiore lay-flat album with a flame-glossed acrylic cover, parent mini albums, and a handmade presentation box.
Wall art
A framed print above the fireplace or in the hallway transforms your wedding photograph into a source of daily joy. I offer wall art as part of the Premium and Ultimate collections — two of your favourite images, printed on 18x12" Lustre paper in a black frame.
If you are in the Deluxe or Digital Only collection, wall art can be added as an optional extra. Get in touch and I will talk you through the options.
Why professional printing matters
Online print services are convenient, but they auto-correct your images — brightening, sharpening, and shifting colour in ways that undo the careful editing I have carried out. A professional lab preserves the exact tones, contrast, and skin colours I intended.
Every image I deliver is calibrated for professional printing. When you order through your personalised gallery, the prints come from the same labs that produce my albums — so the quality you saw on screen is the quality you hold in your hands.
