I'm James — a wedding photographer based in the Lake District, covering Cumbria, Northumberland, and South-West Scotland. Originally from the South-East of England, I moved here in my early twenties and never looked back. There is something about this landscape that gets under your skin — the light on the fells, the shift of weather across the lakes, the way a golden hour can turn an already beautiful day into something unforgettable.

Photography has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. What started as a quiet passion became a calling the first time I photographed a wedding. There is no greater privilege than being trusted to capture the love between two people — the glances, the laughter, the tears — and knowing those images will be treasured for a lifetime.

Working as a wedding photographer in the Lake District means I am surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the UK, with extraordinary venues quite literally on my doorstep. From historic country houses to windswept coastal estates, every location brings its own character and its own opportunities for breathtaking imagery.

The part of my work I cherish most is watching couples relax into their day — surrounded by family and closest friends — and then seeing their faces when they relive it all through the photographs I've created. That moment never gets old.
